If you’ve visited the Library since we’ve re-opened you’ve likely noticed our new addition. In 2020, we took the time to complete the Ridge Road expansion and move our Computer Lab upstairs. This new facility features 4 new study rooms, an expanded courtyard, and the brand new Computer Lab!
To help staff the new Computer Lab, we’ve brought on some extra help! Meet Jenna! She joins the Computer Lab part-time and is excited to be part of the Homewood Library team. We like to ask our new employees some “get-to-know-you” questions. Jenna was kind enough to answer our silly questions. Be sure to say hello when you see her in the Library!
Greatest accomplishment?
I would have to say successfully surviving my first two years of college.
If you could have a superpower what would it be?
Definitely Teleportation. The ability to travel anywhere in the world at the blink of an eye (and without buying a plane ticket) count me in!

I would say Spotify. I love listening to different types of music all the time. That said, Spotify is a must.
What’s the one thing that can instantly make you feel better?
Praying! God is always good; so, talking to Him brings me peace and makes me feel better.
Favorite movie?
That’s a tough one. My current favorite is Princess Mononoke. This Studio Ghibli film features a fantastic art-style and musical score. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend.
Auburn or Alabama?
Neither! I know it’s hard to believe but, despite being born and raised in Alabama, I have never become a Football fan.
Which Hogwarts House do you belong to?
Hufflepuff through and through. Who doesn’t love loyalty, hard work, and plants?
Food you refuse to eat?
Hmm.. There’s not really much I won’t eat, but I will say that I’m not very fond of pumpkin.
Favorite Homewood restaurant?
That one is so tough because Homewood has sooo many great restaurants. However, the restaurants I frequent the most, because of my love for breakfast, is either Farm Bowl or Big Bad Breakfast.
Any pets?
Nope. Although, my roommate has the sweetest dog named Rhea, and it is an absolute pleasure to spend time with her when I’m home.
Dream vacation spot?

Favorite ice cream flavor?
Pecan Praline
Last book you read?
The last book I read was The Life of PI. It was a good read; I really enjoyed the imagery and symbolism woven into the story.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was younger, I always wanted to be an art teacher – and maybe someday I will!
What are you looking forward to the most by working at the Homewood Library?
Having recently moved to the area, I am looking forward to meeting new people and connecting with coworkers, patrons, and the Homewood community.
