Moving to a new home can be intimidating, especially when it is to a completely different country. People around the world have various reasons why they have to leave their homes. From parents’ accepting new jobs to fleeing a war torn country, children who emigrate with their families is nothing new. I, Miss Cristina, am an immigrant, and I moved here to the United States from the Philippines when I was 11 years old with my mom, big sister, and younger brother to be with our dad and the rest of our extended family in New York and Alabama. Moving halfway across the world or moving to a neighboring country can be terrifying, but I know that when you believe that everything will be okay, then, it will be! Starting over is never easy. It takes a lot of courage for people, especially children, to take on these challenges and create a new life in a different country. If you want to read more about these brave and inspiring children, check out the list I made with their amazing stories, which also coincides with the Read Woke challenge this week!
