As the Homewood Public Library works to re-open more, we’re bringing in a few new faces to help us. Meet Ella! Ella is joining our Adult Services Department. To break the ice, we asked Ella a bunch of fun questions so you can get to know her. When you pop into the Library, be sure to say “Hi!” and “Welcome to the Library!” to Ella.

Greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is probably graduating summe cum laude and with honors from the University of Alabama in 2019

If you could have a superpower what would it be?
If I could have a superpower, I would want to be able to teleport. Walking is overrated.

Early riser or night owl?
Night owl for sure.

What app is always running on your phone?
Twitter

How did you end up in Birmingham, AL?
I ended up in Birmingham after graduating college and since it’s close to my hometown of Auburn, it’s been a nice starter city in which to get some meaningful work experience.

Favorite movie?
I don’t necessarily have a favorite movie of all time but the best movie I’ve seen recently is Demon Slayer: Mugen Train based on the anime.

Auburn or Alabama?
Both, but Alabama.

Which Hogwarts House do you belong to?
I usually get Ravenclaw when I take those quizzes.

Celebrity crush?
I love Saiorse Ronan!

Any pets?
Yes! I have a dog Charlie (female, flat-coated retriever mix) who is 8 years old as well as a turtle named Tuck! I am also fostering a 2-year-old blind pit bull named Manny at the moment.

Dream vacation spot?
Italy

Favorite ice cream flavor?
Any ice cream from Jeni’s in Pepper Place.

Last book you read?
I just finished the Daisy Jones and the Six audiobook and LOVED it. I highly recommend.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a vet more than anything and I had a thriving stuffed animal hospital.

What are you looking forward to the most about working at the Homewood Library?
I am look forward to trying to develop some programs soon! I have a ton of ideas.
