You might be seeing several new faces around the Homewood Public Library, so we thought an introduction was in order! Meet Meredith, who is joining our Children’s Department. We asked Meredith some silly and serious questions so you can see how awesome she is!

Greatest accomplishment? Using my teaching degree to help students who may be less enthralled by reading and grammar than I am.

If you could have a superpower what would it be? invincibility/healing

Early riser or night owl? Early riser. I get so much done!

What app is always running on your phone? Instagram

How did you end up in Birmingham, AL? I was born here. =)

Favorite movie? Jurassic Park

Auburn or Alabama? I’m pretty neutral. I went to the University of Montevallo, which has no football team at all. We do have competitive musical theater, though.

What fictional character would you be friends with in real life? Crowley and Aziraphale from Good Omens

Celebrity crush? Tom Hiddleston, Martin Freeman, Benedict Cumberbatch… 

Any pets? No, although I’m very fond of my feline nephew.

Dream vacation spot? I frequent the beach, but I’d love to tour the UK one day.

Favorite ice cream flavor? Cherry Garcia

Last book you read? Solutions and Other Problems by Allie Brosh. We have it here, along with her first book, Hyperbole and a Half.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? a writer
