Pisces is a water sign symbolized by two fishes swimming in opposite directions. This represents the division of Pisces’ attention between fantasy and reality. Pisces are psychic, sensitive, empathic, compassionate, gentle, and intuitive. They are also artistic, musical, and incorrigible romantics. Pisces tend to be daydreamers and reading serves as the perfect escape from reality for them. These titles feature other worlds or parallel universes to satisfy Pisces’ need to escape!

Bones of the Moon – Jonathan Carroll – Speaking of Pisces being a dreamer, Cullen James is a young woman whose life dictates her dreams-and whose dreams control her life. In her first dream, she found the perfect man-and the same thing promptly happened in life. Now, she has begun to dream dreams set in Rondua, a fantasy world of high adventure, full of tests of her courage and strength. Slowly and quietly, her dream world is spilling over into her New York City reality and beginning to threaten everything she loves in life. Her friends are gathered to help her-but even her newfound courage may not be enough.

The Night Circus – Erin Morgenstern – A circus arrives in town without warning, full of unique experiences, and is only open at night. Behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have trained since childhood for this moment. Only one of them can win, and despite themselves, they have tumbled headfirst in love with each other. True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, circus performers to the patrons, hangs in the balance. Truly a book for the magical, romantic Pisces!

One Hundred Years of Solitude – Gabriel Garcia Marquez – The artistic Pisces uses their vivid imagination to think of things many others wouldn’t. Colombian author García Márquez, a Pisces himself, was no exception. His masterpiece, One Hundred Years of Solitude, remains one of the most influential works of 20th-century fiction, an epic novel that takes place over a century and concerns multiple generations of the Buendía family in the fictional Macondo.

White Oleander – Janet Fitch –  White Oleander follows Astrid, a young artist, through several different foster homes, after her poet mother is sent to prison for killing her lover. Pisces are one of the most adaptable signs in the zodiac, they’re deeply influenced by their surroundings and the people that come into their lives, so they’ll be fascinated by how Astrid’s coming of age story is affected by her changing environments.

Practical Magic – Alice Hoffman – Pisces aren’t just brilliant they are emotionally brilliant, and their imaginative powers are unparalleled in the zodiac. Those imaginative powers lend themselves well, where books are concerned, to fantasy. For more than 200 years, the Owens women have been blamed for everything that has gone wrong in their Massachusetts town. Gillian and Sally have endured that fate as well: As children, the sisters were taunted, talked about, and pointed at. After they escape their hometown, the bonds they share will bring them back—almost as if by magic. Oh, and after you finish the book should should absolutely watch (or rewatch) the movie version with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock.

Animal Spirit – Francesca Marciano – Pisces enjoy solving riddles in an effort to understand life’s mysteries. It is quite common for them to get caught up in mystery, glamour, seduction, and intrigue. Add a dash of mysticism and spiritualism, and you have their ideal novel. Animal Spirit brings all of these sentiments and much more to the minds of the reader as each of the six stories tells a different tale that’s relatable to the human heart. All the stories are blended together by different animals who encounter the humans in order to awaken them to personal truths, a supernatural vibe that Pisces really loves.
