Remembering Johanna Lindsey

In December 2019, it was announced that Johanna Lindsey, one of the leading romance writers, passed away on October 27, 2019 from lung cancer. Lindsey wrote almost 60 romance novels, including the wildly popular Malory series. Born in 1952, she wrote her first book, Captive Bride, in 1977 on a whim. From there she started writing one to two books a year with her last book, Temptation’s Darling, being published in July 2019. An extremely private person, Lindsey rarely did public events or had an online social media presence. She was an inspiration to many modern-day romance writers including Eloisa James and Julia Quinn. While most of her novels were set in the Georgian era, she did venture into time travel, Vikings, and westerns. Her novels were filled with adventure, steamy scenes, and characters that loved with their whole hearts. Johanna Lindsey, her characters, and their passionate stories will be missed.
