Author Mary Higgins Clark died last week, on January 31. “The Queen of Suspense,” as she was known, wrote over fifty novels and sold over 100 million copies in the U.S. alone. She said in a 1997 interview that she wanted to create stories that would make the reader say, “This could be me. That could be my daughter. This could happen to us.” She must have done exactly that, because her readers were addicted. If you are one of those readers, we offer our condolences. See us for new author recommendations. If you haven’t ever had the Mary Higgins Clark experience, you should try one of these, which are some of her best-loved works.
