Today is Tolkien Day, and, in honor of his contributions to the literary world (i.e. The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, etc.), I have compiled a list of fantasy books for middle graders that will surely prep them for the wonderful works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Of course, Harry Potter, The Land of Stories, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Percy Jackson are kind of those books already, BUT there are so much more fantasy/magical books out there that are just as awesome! Check these titles out at the Homewood Public Library Children’s Department or place a hold on them through our catalog’s website at www.homewoodpubliclibrary.org. Enjoy!
