February might be the shortest month of the year, but we plan to keep our teens busy with tons of great programs just for them. Take a look at what is happening in February for our 6^th-12^th graders.

1. Teen Haiku Contest – Saturday, February 1 – Saturday, February 29

Who doesn’t love a haiku? We’re challenging out teens to create their best haiku using only 17 syllables.

2. Teen Henna Class – Saturday, February 1 at 2:00 p.m.

Ms. September returns in February for several crafty events, but her henna class is what she is known for. Using all natural ingreidnts, our teens will learn how to create and apply their own beautiful designs.

3. Teen Homeschoolers: Japanese Art – Tuesday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m.

We’re offering our homeschooling teens the chance to create their very own Japanese piece of art. Local artist Bo Hughins will lead this class.

4. Write On! A Writing Group for Teens – Thursday, February 6 at 4 p.m.

This creative writing group for teens is very relaxed and perfect for teens who love to express themselves for writing. Burgin Mathews, a local writer, leads this group and helps teens get the thoughts in their head onto paper.

5. Harry Potter Book Night – Thursday, February 6 at 6:30 p.m.

This wizarding fun evening is all about the magic of Harry Potter. We will have fun games, food, and tons of magic. Costumes encouraged.

6. Stabby Valentines – Tuesday, February 11 at 4 p.m.

The event name might make you raise an eyebrow, but we are planning an afternoon of fun and crafts. Our teens will learn how to sew their very own Valentines creations.

7. Stupid Cupid Chocolate Party – Thursday, February 13 at 4 p.m.

The tradition lives on! Another year of Stupid Cupid where our teens celebrate their love of chocolate. From chocolate themed games to multiple fondue pots, this event all about the wonders of chocolate.

8. Tween Kindness Rocks (4-7 Grade) – Monday, February 17 at 3:30 p.m.

Celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day by painting and hiding a kindness rock around Homewood. It will be sure to brighten someone’s day!

9. Animal Allies – Thursday, February 20 at 4 p.m.

Animal Allies is one of our longest running teens programs. A brainchild of our teens, this group is all about animals. Each month we feature a local organization who brings out several animal ambassadors. For February, Panda Creek Farms will be joining us and possibly brining a baby goat. Yes, a baby goat!

10. Murder at the Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball: A Teen Murder Mystery – Thursday, February 20 at 6 p.m.

Nothing beats a good murder mystery! Our teens are thrown right in the middle of a mystery and they have to figure out who the murderer is!
