Did you know?

  • In the United States, Women’s History Month traces its beginnings back to the FIRST International Women’s Day in 1911.
  • Women’s History Month started as “Women’s History Week” in Santa Rosa, California on 1978.
  • Each year, U.S. Presidents issue “annual proclamations” designating the month of March as Women’s History Month.
  • There’s always a specific theme that honors Women’s History Month.
