Each year, the Homewood Public Library challenges our local 6th-12th graders to an annual Six Word Story Contest. Legend has it that Ernest Hemingway placed a bet that he could write a story in just six words. If the legend is true, he won with “For Sale: Baby Shoes, Never Worn.” Each year, our teens can submit two original stories. Our judges select winners from the 6th-8th grade and 9th-12th grade categories. Thank you to everyone who entered. The Library received over 300 submissions for this year’s Six Word Story Contest. Below are the selected entries for the 2021. Each winner will receive a prize pack that can be picked up via curbside.
