DINOSAURS – They are really BIG.  Not only is size but in popularity.  I mean, how many Jurassic Park movies are there now???  People are crazy about dinosaurs!  They sit up at night thinking … If a T-Rex is so crazy strong, how come it does not totally break its own head?   or  where could I go to dig up dinosaur bones?  or even I wonder what dinosaur meat tasted like?   (….mkay).

I mean, people everywhere now, have we not found all we can possibly find?  So, the bigger question would be, are scientists still finding dinosaurs?  Believe it or not, YES!  They are finding them in JapanAustralia Canada, and kinda-sorta of in Colorado.  There is still so much we are learning about dinosaurs.  Yeah,  it’s kinda crazy.

So, shout out to all you dedicated dino lovers out there.  Keep learning and looking. Who knows…one could be still buried close to you!

Listed below are some titles to help you learn more about these really cool creatures.

BOOKS ON DINOSAURS

DINOSAUR!  DK

This fully revised edition of Dinosaur! is loaded with fascinating facts. Did you know that Velociraptor had three large “killer claws” on each foot to hunt down prey? Or that the long-necked Diplodocus was as long as three school buses? Would you believe that Carcharodon megalodon was an ocean monster with a fearsome bite at least six times stronger than that of today’s great white shark?

This edition reveals more than 60 prehistoric creatures, from the age of the dinosaurs to the most recent Ice Age. From the flying Pterodactylus and ferocious Tyrannosaurus to the gigantic snake Titanoboa and magnificent wooly mammoth, this big book takes you up close and personal with these amazing animals.

DINOSAURS AND PREHISTORIC LIFE

From the origin of life, through the age of dinosaurs stalked by the terrifying Tyrannosaurus rex, to the earliest humans, this book tells the story of life on Earth.

Dinosaurs may be the stars of the show, but the book is truly comprehensive, with fossil plants, invertebrates, amphibians, fish, birds, reptiles, mammals, and even early bacteria conjuring up an entire past world.  To put all of these extinct species in context, the book explores geological time and the way life forms are classified. It also looks at how fossils preserve the story of evolution and how that story can be deciphered.

WEIRD DINOSAURS : THE STRANGE NEW FOSSILS CHALLENGING EVERYTHING WE THOUGHT WE KNEW / JOHN PICKRELL

From the outback of Australia to the Gobi Desert of Mongolia and the savanna of Madagascar, award-winning science writer and dinosaur enthusiast John Pickrell embarks on a world tour of new finds, meeting the fossil hunters working at the frontier of discovery. He reveals the dwarf dinosaurs unearthed by an eccentric Transylvanian baron; an aquatic, crocodile-snouted carnivore bigger than T. Rex, which once lurked in North African waterways; a Chinese dinosaur with wings like a bat; and a Patagonian sauropod so enormous it weighed more than two commercial jet airliners.

Other surprising discoveries hail from Alaska, Siberia, Canada, Burma, and South Africa. Why did dinosaurs grow so huge? How did they spread across the world? Did they all have feathers? What do sauropods have in common with 1950s vacuum cleaners? The stuff of adventure movies and scientific revolutions, Weird Dinosaurs examines the latest breakthroughs and new technologies radically transforming our understanding of the distant past. Pickrell opens a vivid portal to a brand new age of fossil discovery, in which fossil hunters are routinely redefining what we know and how we think about prehistory’s most iconic and fascinating creatures

DEADLIEST DINOSAURS / BY DON NARDO

In the past few decades, scientists have confirmed that many of the creatures that populated the so-called age of dinosaurs were highly lethal, and for diverse reasons. Some were fast and powerful, while others swam, glided through the air, or cooperated by hunting in packs. Six deadly dinosaurs, including Tyrannosaurus rex and Troodon, are profiled
