Favorite Board Books of 2021

2022 is almost here, and the Children’s Department staff compiled a list of their favorite books published this year! Today, some of our children’s librarians are sharing their favorite BOARD BOOKS of 2021. If you haven’t read any of their awesome picks, check them out at the Homewood Public Library Children’s Department or place a hold on them through the links provided before. Enjoy!

  • A Narwhal and Jelly Board Book: Blankie by Ben Clanton
    • Narwhal’s favorite yellow blankie is warm and cozy, but it sometimes Narwhal’s imagination goes wild and the blankie turns into a cape or dress! This funny board book, based on the favorite graphic novel Narwhal and Jelly series, is perfect for babies and toddlers, especially with it’s subject matter about blankets and using your creativity and imagination.

    • It is never too young (or old) to learn about house plants. With whimsical illustrations and an interactive element in each page, this board book is a hit with every parent or caregiver who wants to share their love of house plants to their little ones.

    • Babies and toddlers are going to see themselves on the mirror attached in the book and with the inspiring Black figures in history. This board book is a must in every bookshelves, and the vivid illustrations are sure to mesmerize any reader.

    • If sharks are your jam, check this board book out for more fun facts about these amazing sea creatures. There are also a lot of interactive activities in this board book, which makes this a great board book for babies and toddlers.
