Graduating TAB: Gloria Simmons

with No Comments

Gloria

In July 2019, Gloria Simmons joined the Homewood Public Library’ Teen Advisory Board. As she graduates from Vestavia Hills High School and from our TAB, we want to highlight her time on our volunteer teen board. Thank you Gloria for all your help and time on the Teen Advisory Board! We know you are off to do amazing things!

After high school plans?
I am still planning to go to UAB for college and maybe get a job once I’m settled into college life.
.
What are you most excited about now that you have graduated?
I am glad I won’t have to deal with grade levels anymore and I can finally focus my intellect on what I want to pursue instead of spreading it thin on all sorts of subjects.
.
Are you going to miss anything about high school?
I already miss several of my teachers. I have been lucky enough to have great teachers who not only teach me but make me grow and feel comfortable in class.
.
What are you going to miss about the Teen Advisory Board?
I am going to miss the diversity. All sorts from all around came together and learned to be friends! I wasn’t there long but it was very cool to see.
.
Any message you would like to leave the younger members of TAB?
I want you all to spread the word! I wish I had heard about this sooner! Don’t just focus on the food that is served but the projects and cooperation you do together!
